Bales left in field overnight

dimanche 2 août 2015

Hey everyone, square baled about 300 small square today finishing up around 4pm. I bale with a Kuhns accumulator dropping packs of 15. I had a family situation come up while baling and was not able to get the bales loaded and in the barn. The weather is clear overnight and tomorrow is sunny With clouds late afternoon and breezy. Will the bales be fine if I pick up tomorrow after work at 4pm? The are on edge, cut side up. I'm hoping that whatever dew is on them in the morning will just burn off during the day. Anyone had to do this before? Let me hear the good, the bad and the ugly....thanks
Should I salt them? They're 2nd cut orchard, Timothy and clover mix

When is alfalfa dry enough to bale?

I don't get on here much but I remember seeing a post last year explaining the relative humidity of hay to bale. It was something like 60%. Can somebody help me find the topic again? Thanks.

Loose Wire on bales from Int. 445 baler

I have an International 445 wire tie baler. It has been a great baler but this last time baling it left the wires loose on the bales. I tightened the bale tensioners but that didn't help. When you pick a bale up the wires are 6-8" away from the bale. The bales are tight and I can make them tighter with the tensioners but the wire is still loose. I can't find anything in the manual that addresses this. No wire tension adjustment like twine baler. Anyone got any ideas?

JD 346 square baler timing

The main dive chain broke. What is the procedure to reset the timing. My baler dose not have a slot on the side to line up the plunger. What other way is there to set it

Honest hay broker needed to import to Canada

Looking for recommendations for a great hay broker to help with our 2015 initiative to get hay to people in need affected by the drought in Alberta this year. We have free shipping from Brandon, MB to Edmonton, AB and over 5000 livestock producers and owners in our database needing all types of hay and greenfeed. We have organized a buyer's co-op so payment is not an issue. Needing to move hay asap, many producers pasture did not come up this year and they are feeding hay now. Looking for someone willing to help keep costs low as we are non-profit and just trying to help people out so they don't have to go bankrupt to feed their stock this year or dump their herds. Thanks in advance.
