RTV900 strong idle, weak in gear

I have a RTV 900 that was passed down to me from my dad. He had it for a few year and it was so strong! It overheated so we put a new head in it! Ran perfect for a few months and now it idles very strong I step on the throttle when in neutral and it sounds strong! As soon as I put it in gear and step on the throttle even a little it barely moves and sounds and feels weak to the point that it turns off! If I barely step on the throttle it’ll move but it will not go up even a slight incline...
