X900 Rear View Depth Perception

Over the years I have driven campers, dump trucks, and school buses so backing with mirrors is generally not a problem. However for some reason when backing the X900 with mirrors it is difficult to determine how close I am to whatever I'm backing toward. I can't decide it it is because of the short bed, the height of my mirrors, or the size of my mirrors but my depth perception seems to be impaired. (No... I haven't been using alcohol or other impairing substances)
