vendredi 5 août 2016

When you ted do you go the same direction as the hay was cut. I tedded hay yesterday and we got a light shower .1" top was dry but under was wet and green. Tedded same direction and fluffed it up nice but the spread was not as even. Tried slowing down with more pto rpms and faster with less not much difference. Could the hay have been to dry? We cut 3rd cutting alfalfa this morning and when I ran the tedder on that spread real well going the same direction as cut.just looking for suggestions

thanks

My X1120D with new wheels, tires, winch.

Ended up gettin 27x11 CST Wild Thang mud tires on ITP Delta Steel wheels with a 2+5 offset. Also fabricated a receiver mount for my winch (Viper Max 5000lb) to use on front or back with quick detach wiring. Hopefully wont have any issues going through the small puddles on the deer lease.

A customer story

A netwrap customer of mine that sells hay kept his price down to a guy when the price was high a couple yrs ago because he was a larger good customer.Sold it for 1/2 of what he could of got at auction.I told him at that time he was nuts for selling that cheap, $80 a ton under the market.

So yesterday I stopped at his place to BS and he tells me the same guy just backed out on 100 bales of hay because he can buy it for 20 a ton less at auction.Plus the fact my friend delivered it for that price ,at auction he had to drag it home from auction and return trailers.

Then on top of that he had bought some seed from the guy. I also sell the same brand and he marked it up over list price!!! I sell under list price.

Some people I wonder how they sleep at night.

New land/equipment quandary

So I'm buying another 20 acres next to me and need to change the way things are done. I have a full time job 50hrs a week plus in the summer. Currently I'm using a Massey 399 with a leley 8ft disc mower followed by an 8ft rake then a 426 baler. With what I have plus a new neighbor and 15ac plus new land coming online I'm torn as to what equipment I should invest in. The ground is clean minus gopher mounds. So I'm looking at a new Mowco or mower and rake. The Massey 399 is about 85hp so it is gonna be working hard for a new disc Mowco Moisture is not a big deal here. Most of the new ac is going in grass other than the bit I do in alfalfa Thanks
