Best kind of telehandler

mardi 2 janvier 2018

Whats the best kind of telehandler to buy? I currently have been using a Gradall 324. Its been a great machine, but would like something with AC, and heat for those cold days. The electronics on the new ones scare me!! Im using this telehandler with a 18 bale grab on it.. It unloads all of the hay and loads all transports , and loads & unloads dryer also.

$1.50 per Roll

A good friend of mine traded his one year old 469 Deere baler in for a new 469.

The dealer charged him $1.50 per roll on trade. He had nearly 5K rolls on the baler. So for @ $7,500 he got a new baler with a new warranty.

He plans to trade every year and do most of his baling with the new baler. He has a 458 also that is used when two are needed.

Thoughts?

Pet Talk

Net Pet Talk has been reopened. I had it going a few years ago and changed it to a different format. That did not work out so well, so Net Pet Talk is back.

Stop over and say hi. http://ift.tt/2CeuZ3f

I have a number of styles / color combinations to choose from. Check them out in the drop down at the lower left hand corner of the screen. Let me know if you find one you really like. Currently I am undecided.

round baler - which one to buy???

  I am planning on buying a different round baler between now and Summer 2018.  I will be looking to purchase new rather than used.  I currently have a Heston 840 which I bought new in 2001.  Has been an outstanding baler but I am looking to upgrade from a 4x4 twine only baler to a 4x5 net/twine version.  I generally custom bale 200-300 bales per Summer but will be looking to increase to around 500 x season.

  My question is which baler to buy?  My options, based on availability, knowledge of machine, user friendliness of the control boxes etc, dealership local and price range in no particular order are;

- Massey Ferg. 1745

- Vermeer 5410 Rebel

- NH RB450 UTILITY

  ** Ive heard good and bad on all models;

- Massey 1745 - good dry hay baler, but bale may wedge in chamber and not roll out.  If hay is a tad damp it wont bale well and also if baling very heavy windrow it may plug up. Gathering wheels assembly looks like an add on afterthought patent.

- NH RB450 U. - Makes a nice 4x5 bale but Ive had THREE different salesmen tell me this baler wont hold up over the long haul as it just wasnt made heavy/solid enough.  They say Id be better of going with a NH BR7050 which is twine only and is a 4x4 bale. Tempting as I can get a new one (BR7050) for $13,500 but it's small and not really what I want size wise.

- Vermeer 5410 Rebel - I know NOTHING about this baler and the closest dealer is about two hours away.  What Ive found on line is it makes a nice bale and is generally a trouble free baler but IDK???

  **  In my area I can honestly say I haven't seen any of the three models out in the fields during my travels.  Generally around here it's the JD Green and/or NH bigger models which I cannot afford.  I have plenty of HP to pull whatever I end up getting so thats not an issue and I want something thats easy to program and tie/wrap.  I dont want/need touch screens and flashing lights, bells and whistles.  Any suggestions guys???

Looking for 1st Tractor

lundi 1 janvier 2018

Looking for advice before I buy our first tractor. We just moved to a 10 acre farmette in Maryland. We have horses and about 60% of the property is fenced pasture. We have a Toro Z-Master 6000 for mowing. The tractor would be used for the following tasks: manure pile management, fence posts, snow clearing, doing some landscaping to create a dry lot so material handling and grading. I want a tractor that will hold its value. The land is more clay like here. I don't want an undersized tractor. I would like to be able to put on aftermarket cab down the road. I expect that I will want a post hole digger (maybe aftermarket) and a box blade (aftermarket). A few questions:
1. I was considering a JD 2038R or a Kubota L3301/L3901 - any suggestions or recommendations?
2. If I was going to want a back hoe attachment infrequently, am I better to rent one? Does this impact which tractor to pick?
3. I see tractor dealers that offer package deals including a trailer - are these a good way to go?

Thanks in advance for your help! Happy New Year!

Difference in JD 469 and JD 469 Premium

I’m looking at purchasing a new baler this spring. I am set on the JD 469. I’m trying to figure out what the difference is in the 469 and 469 Premium. The options I am looking at are:
*cover edge Netwrap
*megawide plus
*hydraulic pickup
*moisture sensor
*flotation tires
I know a lot if not all of these options are standard on the Premium. I was just trying to figure out if the Premium came standard with other options that I didn’t really want/need.
