Still seeing new Spiny Amaranth growth

lundi 2 novembre 2020

We are in Middle TN where it has been a great year for rain and hay production. It has also been a bad year for weeds. Every pasture I see has new pigweed growth. Is it too late to spray 2-4-D? Is there a better product for this time of year? Am I correct that it is pointless to add  spray a pre-emergent in November?

NH68 feed bar adjustment(not for bale shape)

Picked up an auction NH68. Seems to work pretty well. Problems it has is the red steel feed tooth is hitting the frame at the far end of it's stroke, so opposite side of the bale chamber. Also the roller bearings seem to hitting into the rail at the top of each stroke.

Right now my best guess is it's the position of the spring loaded arm, not sure what it's name is... When looking at pictures of other peoples NH balers online I see their arm is installed further than mine. Looking in the manual I can't find anything about how it should be positioned. My guess is it should be pushed in all the way to the nub I circled? Anyone know where that should be positioned?

Question on our new Xenforo software

dimanche 1 novembre 2020

We've been running Xenforo forum software for the last 45 days or so. Now that you've had time to try it and get used to where most things are, I'm wondering how you like this new look? I'm getting used to it and actually prefer it over VB. I am still in process of moving a couple of forums over to XF so I work with both VB and XF daily and by far prefer XF at this point. How about you?

Running Gear length capacity

I have a few hay racks that need to built or rebuild this winter and I would like to know how long is advisable for the different tonnage wagons. I can only stack 5 high with the loader and grapple.

Another belt lacing question

I waited long enough to buy a lacing tool. lol We called around looking for a place to re-lace belts on two old Vermeer balers. The closest place is across the state so...............

I did search on here and found some good info but my questions are:

1. Considering Vermeer, what is the best lacing type? I have run Clipper style for years. I read here where someone said Alligator don't work well on Vermeer. How about the MATO?

2. I have to do two different widths. 14" and 6". Is there one tool that will do both well or do I need two?

3. Recommended suppliers or tools? I have seen some folks say don't get this one or that one.

We only do about 500-600 bales a year.

Current belts were replaced about 3 years ago and the belts look good just lacing is starting to look bad.

Thanks

How to edit a an Old Post

After I close one of my posts I can not figure out how to get back in that post to edit something
Sorry for starting such a stupid topic but I need to figure this out. I changed something a while ago but I just forgot how to do it. Most be old age. In the future is there a different way of getting a question like this answered such as going to a specific site manager for the question.
