This may be a diesel question rather than just RTV.

I noticed that the engine oil in my 1120D turned black not long after changing. In my gasoline vehicles, the oil stays like honey until it has many hours on it. I just wanted to know if this is normal. If this happened in a gas engine so quickly, I would assume it needs a flush and maybe has some sludge.

2014 rtv-x900 parking brake handle set screw is missing. I already looked on the floor. Took the handle off and it looks a little diff. setup than normal. If I hold down on the handle it works but it's a pita. I have manuals out the you know but not a parts manual. Yes I can call the dealer and be on the phone forever but if I already have the part number. Thanks for any help.

Mahindra 105s def problems

I purchased a mahindra 105s mforce new in 2017 and since my purchase I've had nothing but problems with the def system the dealership worked on and throw parts at it. I have to regen almost every hour since new and only has 580hrs now warranty is out I'm told it's my problem. Has anyone had this issue? If so how did you fix it?

Last year we couldn't fiqure out what was wrong. Linkage was fine, the fluids all fine, I changed filters in it I even pressure washed it. 6" of snow and 40 mph wind for 1 1/2 days

The windblown drift was a little of 6' at the tallest point . 50' wide x about 80' snowbank . Thanks to the Kubota it took an hour and 10 minutes to make go away while I stayed toasty warm with heater on and fan speed on one . Glad to have this machine to do this kind of work .

I had to buy a couple of new fuel containers, yellow so that my lovely Mrs and the kids did not accidentally put the wrong fuel in the right tank.

Hello All-- I was out plowing this morning and my rtv slipped out of 4WD and would not re-engage. I have had issues since owning this RTV (i am the 2nd owner and got it with around 1600hrs) where the 2wd/4wd engagement lever would fall down and disengage 4wd to the point where I normally have to shove something against the lever to keep it in place while plowing.

Troubleshooting for a friend Kubota rtv x1100c.

They were having issues with it randomly shutting off when they were using it. Said it would run fine for a couple hours and then randomly just shut off.
Said if they left it a couple hours or overnight it would usually restart.

Problem is now it won't start at all.

Found out they had accidently put gasoline in several weeks ago, but had drained the system and refilled with diesel.

I came across this weight in a trade. It was originally a counter weight from a powered hand truck. It weighs 720# and I have used it on my 3 point on my L3200 with a draw bar. I like the weight but I'd rather not have it swinging back there. Does anyone have suggestions as to incorporating it into the top link to stabilize it? I have a 2010 kubota rtv 1100k worksite model, and was wondering if anyone knew if there is supposed to be a spring that goes over the valve poppet on the relief valve? The poppet was rusted up, and I buffed it nice and smooth and it slides in and out nice now. But it doesn't seem to move when I'm applying brakes, and the cables and spring are good, and the plate that pushes the poppet in has the correct spacing. What a difference a year makes!

Howdy folks
Today was my first plowing of the season. Last season was pretty snowy so I had to plow a lot. I froze my tail off plowing with the gator. This time around I put the same plow on my 1100 and what a breeze. After 5 minutes I had ti take off the hat, gloves and coat. The heater is awesome! I went with a 66" plow for the JD but a 72" would have been better on the Kubota. Sometimes it's good to spoil yourself. Stay warm my friends.

I tried to start it will turn over and try to start it seems to fire up but dies instantly. Try after that and there seem to be no power to the starter. It's like there's something to keep the power off. Mess with Neutral safety switch but nothing. Played with the shifter and pedal but nothing wait a couple of hours it will try the same thing but nothing or nothing will happen at all.

Hello, I'm new to this forum. Has anyone replaced the accelerator cable on a Kubota RTV1140 CPX? I'm trying to do this for a friend of mine since I don't own the RTV. I bought the cable from the dealer and one of the ends is not the correct one. The original cable has eyelets on both ends. I appreciate any help.

Purchased 4345 at auction and ordered manual and it has two 12 speeds, one 18 speed and a 24 speed listed. My tractor has 6 forward and 1 reverse with a high and low range. X1100C AC & Front Fan Cycles too Often

My Kubota RTV cycles the AC compressor and front cooling fan very frequently (approximately every 8-10 seconds). It seems to me this would shorten the life of the AC compressor clutch and the front cooling fan. I replaced the temperature sensor in the thermostat housing plus the fan relay under the seat. Wasted my time and money cause it made no difference. My dealer tech and the Kubota rep said this is a built-in Kubota design. I'm wondering: Do any of you have this issue?

The stock wiper is certainly adequate, but I would like to convert it to one that has some intermittent functions. This is especially helpful with light snow or after a snow storm when snow drips from the trees. Has anyone made such a conversion? Back in the 60’s I purchased such a kit from JC Whitney for my VW.

What Brand of Diesel Treatment Do You Use?

My neighbor scolded me for not using some kind of diesel treatment in the RTV, the BX and the 5 gal diesel cans.

I don't usually have to operate them in subzero weather but you never know.

He suggested "Howes Diesel Treat" but there are many others out there. Any of them better than that?

And is there one treatment that prevents winter gelling and that algae stuff that grows in diesel in the summer?

I am going to hook up a dome light on the RTV-X1120 that needs full time 12vdc. I know there are ready 12vdc "switched" connectors under the dash and near the battery.

Does anyone know if there is a ready 12vdc connector anywhere on the unit? My WSM did not show one. Hate to another wire to the battery if avoidable.

In case you're wondering why I need a direct 12volt connection, we need to find the ignition switch in the black of night, seemed like a dome light would come in handy.

Shut it down and walked around. Uh Oh, one front tire is pointing 1 direction, other tire is opposite direction.

I'm Tired of Buying Fuel Gauge's from the Dealer for my 2004, RTV900! Is there a Good Gauge or all these Cheap Piece's of Crap?? Or just pretend its a T Model and get a Dip Stick!

Well it is that time to put new kicks on the ole girl. Man was I shocked too see the load capacity of the Mag 440's tires. It was 1675 lbs, that ruled out many of the tires that I had been looking at. What is everyone using on their rigs? At the OEM tires rating I can't seem to find much of anything close too the load rating.

I've been just dumping it into the used oil drum but wondering if it can/should be reused somehow.
Although it's used, could it be used in an application like a log splitter or should I just keep using cheap but new hyd fluid in the splitter?

The machine came to me not moving at all and the driver had said it had got stuck in gear and they had removed the selector and corrected this. I am not sure if this mistaken.

so my 1140 has 18 hours on it and I noticed a leak under the back, I took it to my dealer. So there are two purge valves located at the top of the transmission. These have two rubber "snorkels" and if you run the RTV at high speeds for a long period of time the hydro fluid will purge out of the snorkel if the fluid level is too high. I have a JD 870 that I noticed was missing 2 lug bolts on one front wheel and one on the other front wheel , Stopped by local dealer and they only had one in stock 5 bux for one bolt.. Checked tractor supply none that fit i stock.

Getting ready to change the fluids in the RTV.

The manual states to use API Service CC, CD or CF. I checked the shelves and don't have any in stock.
What I do have is Rotella T5 diesel oil with API Service CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS, CH-4, CG-4. This is 10W-30. Also have John Deere oil with similar specs but it's 15W-40 which I'd think is probably a little to heavy for our winters.

Has someone been through the process of insurance with KTAC? Does anyone know what % of repair = totaled? 50%, 60%, 70%. Had a large limb fall on the front hood area and after the dealer reviewed the damage it will need a new frame. The frame per se isn't tweeked, just the parts welded to it.

Then if it is totaled will I have to pay the difference in purchase price between a 20 and 22? 23? Crazy times and not sure how

The stock wiper is certainly adequate, but I would like to convert it to one that has some intermittent functions. This is especially helpful with light snow or after a snow storm when snow drips from the trees. Has anyone made such a conversion? Back in the 60’s I purchased such a kit from JC Whitney for my VW.

I'm trying to figure out if my RTV will fit on my 5x10 utility trailer. My 2005 HPX gator just barely made it. I know I'll need to beef up the ramp but before I do has anyone tried it before. My RTC 1100C has been slow since purchased brand spanking new. When purchased, the dealer installed a factory 2" lift kit and 31 inch tires.
On flat ground, it would struggle to hit 20 MPH. Going up the long slows sloping driveway, it slowed down to 13-14 mph.

I finally got to widening the barn door today. I went from 7' 6" to 11' 8" Now I can drive the kubotas in and out without having to shuffle them around. I had an extra 4' door so I added it. This will make it a lot easier to back the 1100 in with the snow blade on.

I have an L48 Kubota tractor, when I go to start it the glow plug lamp comes on, wait a few seconds and she fires right up, and the lamp goes out …..however twenty minutes later while working it the lamp will come on again for 30-60 seconds and go out….this repeats at odd intervals while working? So is it a bad air temperature intake sensor or the relay or???

vin: VGOTURF016783 Anyone know the trick to removing rear axle to replace bearing & seal? I see internal snap rings in the image but how would you get to them with axle flange in the way? Then I guess a slide hammer to pull the axle with bearing? Or out of the bearing? I guess I could take a plasma cutter & enlarge the brake plate mounting access hole but I shouldn't have to do that.

I purchased a used 2017 Kubota RTV x1100c with about 300 hours. I changed all fluids and filters using the Kubota Hydraulic Fluid. It ran fine for about a year. Then, as I was heading home the trans was slipping. After parking it, I checked all fluid levels. When I tried to engage the transmission it now makes a noise and vibrates. There are no leaks and am hoping this is a minor fix since the transmission has so few hours.

My associate was "changing the engine oil"; accidentally put 1 gal of engine oil into transmission filler plug. Engine was never started. We drained the transmission and replaced both filters and refilled with transmission oil. Am I safe by draining overnight and refilling or do I need to have the unit flushed?

- reasonably quiet
- cord is just the right length

Cons:
- on/off switch is hard to reach and feels flimsy. My solution here is to turn the switch to high and leave it there and then control on/off with the power plug. Power plug stowes easily in the glove box for transport.
- If the fan motor ever fails, I suspect that the adhesive tape will leave a mess

I have removed some of the tractor sheet metal trying to get to the “steering” head - Does anyone know if it will help or necessary to remove the steering wheel to do the repair? I have the difficult to find hoses in route to me - no instructions on line that I can find and no instructions in manual.

- the bucket tilts and lowers just fine, but it will not pick up very much weight, probly 10 shovel fulls, and it is very slow to lift.

Most of the time my RTV is a work machine. Hauling firewood, rocks, dirt, and trailers seems more often than not. And it does a great job. If I get lucky once in a while I get to bring it to my brothers farm, about 54 acres, to give it a bit of a workout on some well groomed trails. But even there I'm limited to a couple of large loops, and small connector trails. Some of it is still wilderness and inaccessible.

I recently purchased an RTV500 2012 and only noticed last week that there isn’t any protection on the front drive shaft cv joint. It’s actually under the skid plate of all things and there doesn’t seem anything from Kubota to protect that area? I have a NH TD55D which I have owned for about 20 years. Runs very well but now has a likely fuel supply issue.
The tractor was low on diesel then started to lose power. Refueled and restarted but it now stalls after a couple of minutes at all rev levels. I have a GR2110 lawn tractor and the pto is out. It looks like I need a pto clutch kit.
Anyone out there done this repair I have a couple questions on how to get it out?
Messicks appears to be the cheapest to buy a clutch kit (expensive). Any other I should check?
Can I just replace the clutches instead of the whole clutch pack?

History- 2005 RTV 900 1600 plus hrs. I've owned 5yrs. Lately I've noticed slight loss of coolant and discovered water pump leaking and small crack in head. Rtv ran fine with no loss of power or overheating. Replaced the water pump and a new complete head. Ran 30 min. let set over night retorqed the head and readjusted the valves on .006 ,flushed the cooling system, took th muffler off and cleaned it out, checked air filter.

I got a really good deal on a backhoe off 3316 mahindra tractor the backhoe is a 3710.. it is set up for a 33 hp 4.7gpm pump ,dont konow pto HP,I was wondering if i put a hydrualic pump on pto of kioti which has 16 to 17 hp on the pto will it be enough to run the hoe without tearing anything up like the pto. I dont have any problem fabbing and fitting the hoe to the kioti but i wanna use an external pump if i can just in case i tear something up i can still use the tractor and front loader...

No More Rattle

For the first time since we got the x1120, there are no more rattles.

As I learned from another member of the site, a couple of wraps of electrical tape on the tailgate pins cured that one. I later replaced it with black gorilla tape.

The SMV sign I have mounted on the rear screen was another source of rattle. The foam insulation I slid under one corner had departed and was rattlin right near my head.

The final rattle was coming from where the UTV Hitchworks transmission cover...

I admit it. I haven't checked the engine oil, transmission fluid or hydraulic fluid since December but I got around to it yesterday. My old Dad would curse me if he knew. In previous a thread it was mentioned to remove the plastic portion of the seat to access it. It seems to me a much better way to access it would be to remove the skid plate and work from the bottom. Any opinions would be great. Got to do the job as soon as my pump comes in.

Hello, got a MF-135 that I'm messing around with. It came with the Operator Instruction Book, but the book is missing all of Section 4 - General Reference. This book is a really handy little guide for the stuff I'm working on. I've had a look online and found some other manuals, but I've been unable to find this version of the Operator Instruction Book. If anyone is aware of an online version or if someone could supply a copy of Section 4 for me that would be awesome!

I did purchase the smaller fluted stainless steel coffee filters that every the discussion groups are fawning about. I wasn't interested until I saw what a guy prevented from going into his tank. And then another and another. Then I looked in my diesel cans. Where does this crud come from? There is a huge filter right before the hose where I get fuel.

I have always been curious about 135 mudguards. We had 3 135s all with square mudguards and other farms around us had 135s with square mudguards. However I see many pictures of 135s with Clam or round mudguards similar to those on its predecessor 35s.

Does any one know why they made two types, did one follow the other style an if so when?

I've seen the sticky on side rails and really liked the idea. So last week when I picked up my new 2104 x1100 I had the back window screen included as part of the deal. My plan was to use 1" tubing and run boards on the 2 sides as others have done with the window screen .

Wrong! I don't know if it will work on the previous1100 models but on the 2104 you cannot put a 1" tube in the front ( near the window) , the bracket for the window screen is in the way. I think kubota might have...

So I have been lurking as of late as my X1140 has been working great so not much to post. One issue I am having is backing this beast up with a trailer attached. I have backed up trailers since I was young and always with side mirrors. I have the factory tempered glass windshield and the metal on the sides of the windshield wrap around the front roll bars. I just bought a Kubota 900rtv that previous owner stated that they killed it and then it would start. It has set about 2 years. I have replaced the fuel filter and I am getting fuel to the lift pump. I opened the bleeder valve on injector pump and have fuel coming out of it. I am not getting fuel to injectors at the injectors. Any ideas? Previous owner did state that they broke injectors at pump to try to bleed it. Heard rumors that might not be good? Fuel solenoid appears to be working...

I have a New Holland TC40D tractor purchased in 2003. The original battery has finally died. My problem is finding a replacement. The original is a Deka 1024DT. That battery is no longer manufactured nor does there seem to be direct alternative. I have looked online and gone to an NH and Case dealership both with no success. Hand throttle

Has anyone had an issue with the cable being too long on their hand throttle? I have a 2016 x900. I bought the kit from Messicks and it all looked fine until I had to hook it to the lever that the throttle cable is on. I had like 2.5" extra. I have it adjusted all the way back on the adjustment threads. My cable had 2 ferrules on it and I don't think either one is in the right spot.

Every Massey I have owned has always had an opening sun roof, including 3000, 6100 and 6200 series.
Went to see two 6480s today and neither had an opening roof! Do any more modern Masseys still have opening roofs? TIA.

Jensen HD radio losing preset memory

I have the factory Jensen HD radio and the problem I have is that it quite frequently clears all the stations I have programmed in. It does not lose the time, nor is there a problem with loose connections. It happens after about 7 starts when the radio is left on. There is no interruption in reception while it is on and it behaves fine except the once in a while when the memory is cleared of all stations! Anyone have the same problem?
