Hi All,

So...my new/used buggy is ready to go into service this Sunday at work. I'm an Airline Line RON Mechanic (overnight). Had full service performed, Hazard/turn signal lights, FT and RR work lights, reverse beeper, rear window grill and bed mat added at my local Dealership. Still a few things to do, but she's ready enough for now. Question/s specific to this thread are adding reverse light down low.

I’ve got a customer with an RTV x1140 that the transmission is engaging very when you hit the accelerator and when you let off the accelerator it will almost throw you through the windshield. I know it’s just under 200 hours, just done a service on the motor. I’m needing advice on this issue since it’s used by his wife for gardening and she is elderly and in bad health

A interesting picture is attached of an RTV on duty at joint base Hickam/Pearl. I haven't been on the base since '85 and at that time it was Hickam. I do remember an identification facility out on the edge of the base. It appears the RTV is using the front hitch to push a cart carrying the possible remains of U.S. Servicemen recovered in the Philippines. It must be a pretty fair distance to the facility or they would be carrying the remains. Article pasted in below.

The flat space over the heater control is handy, but there is nothing to keep things placed there from vibrating off. I designed a fence to be attached containing the area. The part has a inside flange with screw holes, but double sided tape should be just fine. If there is sufficient interest I will print and offer them to the group. These are printed in carbon fiber reinforced polycarbonate. A premium material that is very tough.

My 2017 kubota 1140 RTV will max out speed at 12 mph.

I recently purchased a used 2017 Kubota RTV 1140 that is having issues with the transmission, the Kubota dealer inspected it and said it may need a new transmission. Well, anyway, the RTV will currently move at around 12mph max and is supposed to be around 22 to 24 mph. It backs up and goes forward properly in all gears 2x4 n 4x4. I have a 2004 Kubota RTV900 that runs a drives good but when I put hyd fluid in the dump bed reservoir it pushes it into the transmission and out the dip stick. With the reservoir empty everything works as it should just no hyd lift dump bed. Anyone else having this issue and if so what did you do to fix it?

Factory style connectors for X1100C work light harness

I currently have the halogen work lights on the front and rear of my x1100c but would like to swap them out for some Grote LED lights I have laying around. I would like to find new factory matching connectors to put on the Grote plug harnesses. I can disassemble the plug ends off the halogen work lights to reuse them without having a splice in that small of a wire but rather new ends.

So question is….. does anyone have a link or know where to buy these connectors to match the factory wiring...

I've been through the kubota rtv manual a few times and can't find anything related to the idle rpm that the machine should be set at. Mine feels like its low but I can't find the spec so that I know where to adjust it to.

Another thread got me thinking about the age of members RTV's. Wondering if people still have the old ones or are the new ones more common.
I don't recall when the model years changed so the year selections in the poll may not reflect particular models.
For this poll, it doesn't matter which model you have (900, 1100, X series...).

RTV 1100 Move Slow - Then Stops

New to me RTV 1100

Will drive forward and reverse up until maybe 20% throttle pedat movement. Anything beyond that and it stops moving like the hst pressure dumps. If I come back to idle it will move again.
Jacked up the back wheels and disconnected the servo rod so that I could run the wheels at idle. After about 20% servo lever movement the wheels stop. Below 20% servo lever movement the wheels start turning again.

This is a new one for me......back check/relief valve?

does anyone make a retro kit to make a blower chute defector moveable from the cab? have a Kubota L4060 with a Landpride front mount blower that doesn't have a power defector that you can adjust from the drivers seat and would really like to do that to save the hassle of getting in and out to adjust. like to make it as simple as possible and hopefully Kubota makes a kit. thanks

As some of you know we do agricultural spraying with our X1100c. In March I started looking for a manufacturer that makes a cruise control for the Kubotas. After a lot of research I came across a company called McCruise in Australia. Due to the pandemic they have had issues getting parts but finally they arrived and they shipped out a unit. Priced at 1775.00 aud or about $1400.00 Usd it’s a pretty good investment. I’m telling you about this because it arrived today.

I was putting chains on my rear tires today, draped the chains over the tire, backed the Kubota up,

Hi All,

My 2014 X1100c has about 45hrs on it and I just noticed that the antifreeze reservoir is below the "Add" mark. It use to be midway up the canister between low and full. This is a closed system so where did it go? No leaks, no smoke, no sweet exhaust odor, oil is uncontaminated? It's probably missing about two cups. Could it have burped air from the system after all this time?

Happy Thanksgiving all! I'm new to the forum and just picked up a 2004 RTV900. It's got about 1600 hrs on it. The one of a few problems I have is the dump box doesn't seem to be going up high enough. I can't reach the top of the oil tank with the bed raised. I need to know how long the piston ii when fully extended to see if the correct cylinder is installed. Thanks for any help you can give.

Trying to sort out an oil leak out the bottom of the hst on my x1100c

Appears to becoming from bottom plug #90 in parts diagram attached.

Replaced the o-ring on it and it still appears to be leaking. Not much, but a sweat shows up around the plug after just a couple of minutes of sitting.

Anyone else ever had this issue? Wondering about doubling up the o-ring?

Wanted to post and see if anyone had done this before, but my doors are looking pretty ratty so I'm considering spraying or rolling them with truck bed liner. Just a cosmetic thing but I guess it could also help with keeping the noise inside down.

Do any of you run supplements in your fuel?

Quick question, does anyone run Power Service Winter Supplement & Cetane boost in your RTV's diesel fuel in the wintertime? I have never run it in my John Deere diesel, but I had an old Dodge 3500 one ton that had the Cummins in it and I would run that in it, as I had my diesel fuel gel up one time during the winter. Does Kubota recommend cetane boost for winter? I would hate for my fuel to gel up.

I'm looking for easy-to-install alternatives to the Kubota OEM Strobe Light Kit and Turn Signal Kit. The strobe light kit seems fairly easy (except for the metal bracket), the turn signals seem more difficult.

Either way, if you found a "better" and hopefully "cheaper" alternative to the Kubota OEM components for these two purposes, I'd love to hear about them here.

Hi all, has anyone had issues with roll up windows getting cranky? My driver door window sags at the front end while rolling up. I have to grab the window and pull it vertically to get it to go up. Passenger window is normal. I am trying to understand why before I tear into the door. I bought a 2020 RTV 1100, it's smokey and underpowered. I'm not too surprised by this, I knew the risk buying low at auction. Disappointed, but that was the risk I took.
I checked the basics, filters, etc, still very smokey. Less smoke at start than after running a while.
It has 900 hours, and it has a turbo installed. Unit looks good other than the engine issue, everything else works, not too rusty.

My grandpa just bought a '94 MF 1250, it has a leak that looks to be coming from the engine oil pan. It has dripped down onto the drive shaft. Will i have to seperate the tractor to replace the oil pan gasket? Thanks for any help.

RTV 1100 Odd Transmssion Problem

Purchased an old rtv 1100 with suspected tranny issues.

Engine runs good. It moves fine until I press down on the accelerator more than about 20%. If I do that it stops moving all of a sudden like the hst pressure is dumped. If I let it go back to idle it will start moving again.

I installed a door jam switch to operate the dome light today on my 2018 X1100C. Now when I open the door my dome light comes on. The light is set up to come on by the ground being switched so this was an easy hack.

i learned something new this morning while starting the 1100. the temp here was 2 degrees F with light wind. i already had anti gell in the fuel so i knew that wouldn't be a problem, so what i learned was that i had to glow the engine for 1 min and continue cranking to assist the engine as it was running but would die without the starter. the new biggie for me anyway was the discovery that if you fudge back on the key while cranking you can glow while the starter is engaged. that caused the...

Using A RTV on the road

In my state, you can register a RTV for off highway use, which will allow you to drive it on any road that is maintained by the county. My plates just came in the mail today from the dealership. For Tennessee, it is registered as a Class 1 Off Highway Vehicle. I am still keeping the SMV sign on the back window screen. I may mount the plate next to the SMV sign. Does the state you live in allow you to run your RTV on the county roads?

I have an x1100c with 800 hours that is new to me. I just changed all of the fluids and filters. The one filter on the transmission came with a “magnetic” ring for the purpose of catching any metal debris. The filter I replaced did not have one and after the replacement the unit will not go over 19 miles per hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am considering removing the filter and discarding the magnetic ring.

Went an picked up another quick hitch today. This time for my 67 Ford 3000 diesel. I lucked out.
I got one back in 2014 for my Kubota B2620. Went with the B.E. (Braber Equipment) because it looked identical to the Land Pride (which all my implements are except for the chipper/shredder) but it was exactly half the price. Have not had an issue with it.

I have a new to me x1140. As I drive it and the hydraulic oil warms up, I start hearing a sucking sound (fluid flowing) from the power steering controller under the steering wheel when turning the steering wheel. there is no sound when the wheel isn't turning. the oil in the tank under the front passenger seat is full. I'm thinking this is normal but wanted to ask others since I've never owned a kabota utv before.

The drivers side door on my X1100 has become increasingly difficult to open from the inside. So today I decided to see what the problem was. Rolling up on retirement and reduction in income, we are considering replacing our 1120 with an 1100 now so we can stay busy even when the weather is not great. It is very slow going up a hill, 30 going down hill , 18 level and 8 on a incline or towing a small trailer. With the wheels off the ground wheels spin freely so no brake issues. They have now come out with battery powered ZTR lawn mowers. Anybody own one? How much grass can can one mow and how many high priced battery modules installed does it take to mow that much grass?

Bow-deer season opened recently in Wisconsin. My son and I were giddy about relocating an old ladder stand today and I suggested we could use the box our RTV900 to reach those overhanging branches before tipping it up. Unfortunately, things went south and I crushed the deployed gate on the big balsam's trunk. The wounded gate came off easily but not sure it's repairable. Thought I'd share my developing story.
I bought a 2020 RTV 1100, it's smokey and underpowered. I'm not too surprised by this, I knew the risk buying low at auction. Disappointed, but that was the risk I took.
I checked the basics, filters, etc, still very smokey. Less smoke at start than after running a while.

I have a 2016 X1120. I noticed what sounded like a clunk when I raised and lowered the bed. I noticed the bottom part of the cylinder, closest to the bottom of the machine seemed loose when activated. After a closer inspection, I noticed that that retention pin had nothing in the hole where you would expect to see a cotter pin or something to keep the hydraulic cylinder pin from sliding around.

Hit a stump or log bushhogging. The draft control will normally raise the bushhog when it hits something (feels resistance), I also raised the lever to elevate it slightly. Hello, I recently purchased a 2008 RTV900 and looks like someone upgraded the middle driveshaft (P/N K7711-16806) to the newer one piece design. I changed the hydraulic motor under the steering column thinking it would solve the power steering fluid leak on the cab floor. Restarted tractor, and power steering fluid is pouring from underneath the cab. I see that the lines/pipes are no longer available according to Messicks webpage.

Front Radiator Fan

We have a new 1100C and the unit has been overheating. Neither front radiator fan nor fan at engine would turn on causing overheating. Clarification - front fan will only run if AC is turned on. Turns out the temperature switch for the rear fan is bad. I can jump the switch but only rear fan will turn on.

My question - what will trigger the front radiator fan to come on if AC is not turned on? Or, does the front fan only come on with AC?

I have a2014 x1100c rtv and every couple months the back muffler bracket breaks off . Any suggestions? Welding doesnt last longer. Was thinking of manufacturing a thicker sized bracket plate . Would it work?

Attended another tractor parade last Monday. Had a blast! About a two hour ride on the tractor, then a nice BBQ lunch at the pavilion. And even though I have lived around here all my life, I had no idea this museum was here! Has one of the old homestead log homes, a replica of the old schoolhouse and barns full of antique farm implements used here by locals back in the day. It blew my mind.

My RTV-1000 is model years 2009. Buying filters but only references have letters before and after, as noted above. Are they all the same filters? Thanks in advance.

I have a new holland t1510 and I am having an issue. Starts up just fine, can start pto just fine, but as soon as I put it into high, medium or low the engine will shut off think it maybe could be a safety switch but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

today my x1100c decided to stop moving i have all my hydraulic steering and power dump but it won't move in any gear and makes a growl noise in the hst just when you give it throttle kind of sounds like something may be stripped spline or coupler on a shaft i could work on it myself if i knew were to begin also i've checked the oil in hst and its full any info would be great

2023 5100E cab is hot as. Hell in Texas

I messed up and bought a new 5100E cab tractor. I have owned it maybe 4 months . The A/C is inadequate I have had service come out no problem found . I used it 3 hrs yesterday 2:30 to 5:30 mowing light weeds . It was 101 degrees outside it was 98 degrees inside yes like an oven service finds no problem . I am P.O.ed to the max. Any one out there on a 5100E ? How does it cool?

I recently replaced all fluids on my 2018 RTV x1140 using factory fluids. Now I have what sounds like air in the line when I turn my steering wheel. It is not a whine but a hiss like air in the line. 'Do I need to bleed the line? If so, how? I filled the tank under the front seat to the marks on the dip stick with Super UDT 2.

Hi, New guy just bought a used 2018 RTV x1100C and it's not the biggest deal but I am wondering if it's possible to change the odometer and speedo to Metric. I can see that it's on the LCD screen so it should be possible just not sure how to do it. I checked the owners manual and I didn't see any information on it.

I have an 1140cpx that will barley do 7mph in any gear the unloading valve was the main issue I found staying stuck halfway in causing it to dump back to tank which also wore the squash plates down which I replaced I reassembled everything and have charge pressure well according to a 900 manual and an 1140x but I am lost on where to look next as these things are outside my territory and not having a proper manual I am running half blind

I am looking for some direction / wisdom from you good people.
I have read alot of the threads here and in other sites and have tried many of the suggested remedies. I have just acquired a RTV900G at auction with 2700 hours. Oil change blunder

Changing the oil and filter for the first time on my RTV X-1120 at 62 hours.
When I went to add the oil I put 1/2 quart 10w-30 in the "OIL" filler before realizing that was the trans oil filler neck. What a bonehead!
I have already changed both of the trans filters and fluid at 50 hours, do I need to do it again now?

John Deere 316 won’t move

I have a John Deere 316 mower that the hydraulics don’t seem to be working on. I can’t turn the wheels or go forward or reverse. It was working fine with no problems and I had a friend change a leaking seal and now the mower won’t move. Starts just fine. Any one know what could be the problem?

Mine tends to drain down over time. I'm unsure the cause but thought maybe permanently mounting a small panel on the roof might help avoid that issue.

I finally got my RTV back from the dealer. While there fixing the linkage that slipped out of sync, I had a few other things done that by themselves were not worthy of a trip to the dealer. Left melted headlight fixed, fuel gauge replaced (it had been intermittent but turns out it was the gauge, no labor for replacing). I also had tubes put in the rear tires and I got the hand throttle yall had been talking about. Awesome.

Hi everyone. I have 3 X1100's where I work. One has recently developed an issue.

When going downhill and hitting the speed governor, the vehicle slows down as expected.
However, it almost comes to a complete stop before I am able to accelerate again.

Went to the Canada Day tractor parade yesterday. Had severe thunder storms the day before, but yesterday turned out perfect!
The Ford ran and drove beautifully. Such a nice comfortable tractor to go for a cruise on. Surprisingly it got a LOT of attention.
This show has a mix of everything. Some nice restored painted tractors, and many that literally leave work on the farm field, come do the parade covered in mud and manure, then go right back to work.

I have a 2011 RTV 1100, and I broke a rear axle because both sides were shot when I bought this. I've bought all new bearings, seals, and two new axles, but I'm stumped on how to get it back together. I usually just pay the dealer whatever they want for these things, but this job was going to cost more than most used side by sides.

The axles come assembled, with those permanent (I think) boot clamps on the boots. From what I see, I'm going to have to knock apart the u-joints or cut off one...

Last weekend, the seven year old battery died in our X1120. I was able to get it going again with a jump pack and taking a replacement battery to install this coming weekend. I have never dived into hydro-static steering or how it works. But I understand the steering wheel is not directly connected to the steering arm or tie rod ends. Any ideas on the 2098 code. What I can find is an electronic issue with the dump valve. I replaced the coil on the valve and still have the issue. Fine when cool, as it gets to operating temp it will code. Self clears after a few minutes. Example, 20 bales to unload and stack, on bale 17 it coded. Coded 5 more times on the last 3 bales. Next day same thing only coded on bale 16. Dealer says it’s electrical but I’m not so sure. Only other symptoms is hydraulic pressure/flow drops off as it...

B21 Bogs down for no apparent reason

I have a 1999 B21 that was abused by it's previous owner. It runs great in a straight line. When I turn hard to the left or the right, it starts blowing black smoke and bogs down. That means it;s acting like it's under a heavy load. I've also noticed that if I start moving the bucket up and down when it starts doing that, then it starts to run right but only as long as I'm moving the bucket. This makes me think that the problem could somehow be in the hydraulics...

Had a great Father's Day weekend with all my kids in attendance and the RTV got a good workout. On the last ride, my Son in law was putting it away so we could pack up and it wouldn't turn over.
