Boss Snowplow Shoes

jeudi 31 janvier 2019

I have a RTV 1100c with a Boss XT plow from Kubota dealer here in NH
The machine works great and does what I expected from Kubota. However the plow shoes are junk. First of all, the reason you need plow shoes is that you are plowing a dirt, gravel or stone driveway or area. The truncated cone design of the Kubota shoes simply doesn’t have the surface area to support the heavy plow and just digs long ruts in the driveway. I have tried to look for other shoes only to find that each manufacturer has a different shaft size for the shoe....duh ...go figure. Has anyone had this issue, and what was your fix. I have thought of having some broad “skis:” welded to the shoes ....but this is a bandaid.
Any help here?

New to hay talk. Probably starting a little controversy but I’m looking at buying a new massey 1840 but hesitant do to what I’ve read about the stuffer forks not having enough capacity and shearing bolts. I live in ne Minnesota wondering if anyone in wi or Mn run these bailers and their thoughts.

Skid Steers

We have a 2013 Bobcat S550 and are looking at trading it off on a newer S550 or Cat 232D or 236D, more than likely go with joysticks and might look at tracks but I don't think we will.  I am wondering what people think of these or other ones, with joysticks and without.

MW baler hay loose

Twine around hay seems to stop short on the right/passenger side. The adjuster is all the way to the end has wing nut to change positions. see picture and maybe I can fix it, hay does drop off slightly when moving it.[attachmenDSCN3378.JPG t=79194:IMAG2714.jpg] tried to post picture hopefully they appear when clicked on. Thanks

Pasture leases

Our little non-profit happens to own 160 acres of irrigated pasture.  An organic dairy has leased the property for the last decade for yearlings, but their business is shrinking and they're consolidating.  We have a new interested tenant, willing to pay a year round lease, and pay for irrigation costs, move wheel lines, etc.  He trades in beef in the growth stage (500lbs to adult).

What's a fair price for an arrangement like this?  We're in S. Oregon, where the first crop of grass is free and any further growth requires irrigation.  Pasture grass is in fair shape, fencing/cross fencing is intact, wheel lines are functional.  Good flood plain soil.
