Choosing a sprayer

Approximately 85ac of mildly rolling hills. Nothing steep. Pasture on about 50, waterways on about 5 and alfalfa/ orchard on 20 and Timothy on the final 10ac.

I have a neighbor who has been spraying thus far, but it is hit or miss when it gets done. 7-14days variance sometimes. I feel that I'd like to have a good sprayer to apply herbicide as well as pesticides when needed rather than when it can be gotten to.

So, I've been looking at sprayers online, however they are much more expensive than I would have guessed. So, I've been looking at used sprayers, and there is a huge variety. So much so, that I'm not sure of what I need in reality.

My thinking is that a 500 gal pull type with 45-60' adjustable height booms would be best. Minimum 3 station. I'd like to get foam markers although I'd certainly consider GPS if there was a reasonable cost for such a small operation as mine.

There are so many options but I'm not really sure what would be necessary, useful, or simply costly.

Given what I've stated, what would you recommend?

Tires? Gal? Accessories? What is "worth the cost" to you? What would you not do without? And what would you recommend I look for in a used sprayer? Both to look FOR and to AVOID? I see many on TRACTORHOUSE but I just don't know what I'd use and find useful.

And finally, what do you think a worthwhile sprayer that you'd recommend would go for/be worth? What range can I likely get a solid sprayer to fit my needs?

Chain/slat versus belt round balers and other questions

So I've made my intention to possibly move to a Krone round baler in the "off season". If I don't, I will stick with New Holland.
I don't know much about Krones chain/slat system. Some claim it's heavier and makes dense bales. However, the new holland makes a dense core.
Has anyone switched from one to the other?
Any thoughts?
Krone baler on average is 10k more.

Also,I'm pretty sure a roto cut slows down the baling speed? Is this an issue with the baler throat being obstructed with the roto cut blades? What impact (if any) would bale slice have on speed?
Reason I ask is because many used sileage balers have roto cut or slice options.

Hay Curing Over Wet Ground???

I was hoping to cut some hay over this Labor Day weekend. I've got a small third cutting of my Clair Timothy, second cutting of a Timothy mix field and some grass weeds off a couple new fields I'm reclaiming for next year just to get the thatch off the field.

However.....

We've had rain all week. Where there has been a break in the rain, it's been cold, humid and sometimes foggy. Everything is saturated. Even if the wind picked up today with clearing weather and I cut/conditioned the hay dry, the ground underneath is still soaking wet. Some of it goes into the ground, but also evaporates up and through the hay - which rehydrates to some extent? My haying window is shut now for at least two weeks.

What is your expectations for dry down days with conditioned hay, tedding - but rain soaked ground? Speaking of square bales. I'm assuming a three day window ain't going to work, even with square bales and preservative.

How do you deal with such conditions with square bales; what's your timeline?
