We had a brush fire break out by one of my alfalfa/orchard grass fields this week and it spread over a portion of the hay field. Its still pretty early in the growing season here as snow still covered those fields 2-3 weeks ago. The fire cleaned out the dry thatch and the grass seems to be recovering as I expected. However, the alfalfa was just barely starting to show some growth before the fire and I don't see new growth emerging after the fire. Anyone have experience with this? At this point I'm just waiting and watching and hoping things will recover.
