The thread on wrapping rounds after sweating got me thinking. I know this will vary a lot with bale type and density but how long does it take to lose 5 points of moisture, say from 19 to 14?
A good friend baled in small squares at high moisture back in early June and stacked one layer across harn floor. It was treated with acid at some insane rate, at least15 lb./ton. He tested it last week and had high 20's and 30's. Hay is not moldy or dusty but smells like silage .
Acid salesman tells me it only protects a few weeks. What's going on with this stuff?
