Baler for corn stalks and bean chaff

We have never baled up corn stalks or bean chaff but I am looking for some cheap bedding and we have a baler and tractor sitting idle in the shed.

We have a NH 853 chain baler - Do chain balers work in corn or beans?

Otherwise we have a 24T. Do small square balers work ok? The small squares would be nice for storing in the barn where the bedding is needed.
