This year we have upgraded to a New Holland with a 770HD rotary head from a 2550 sickle. Due to severe drought, 1st cutting is very thin and I'm having a super hard time getting a nice cut. In thicker hay it cuts like a dream. I've tried every combination of header speed and ground speed that I can think of, to no avail. It cuts clean at the edges of the header but not in the center, almost as if the auger is throwing crop forward and laying standing crop over. We have new knives, and all the rotors are properly aligned. We do custom work so this is a big concern for us.
