What would you do with this alfalfa??

This past spring I planted 15 acres of round up ready alfalfa to go with the 10 acres I planted last year. I pretty much thought it had gotten washed away, but to my suprise I have a nice stand. Then the rain shut off! It is thick but really short and starting to flower here and there. So short in fact I don't think my discbine will cut it. 6"-8" I'm thinking about just leaving it because I'm afraid to cut it due to being bone dry here with no rain in sight. I don't care about the hay that will come off it if any lol. Just don't wanna kill it by cutting it. What would you do??
