Forage experiment

I like to try new things, keeps us from getting bored I guess. Yesterday we harvested 81 bales of oats and peas from a heavily manured 15 acre field. Likely a record. Today we disced and harrowed it, and I drilled in sorghum Sudan grass, Italian ryegrass, German millet, radishes, turnips, and crimson clover. Soil conditions were near perfect and rain is in the forecast. I can't wait to see what we end up with. It will be cow feed, and I hope to cut it three times before winter.
