This past winter we built a new barn at the house, and also had to dig a ditch to the new barn for utilities. Dump trucks, dozers, ect.... Really tore the back yard up so a couple weeks ago me and dad rotary tilled most of the back yard, leveled it, fertilized it, seeded with fescue, cultipacked and spread straw. That evening my mother came home, and told dad she wanted a garden right in the middle of the new sown grass lol. So dad goes out rakes the straw back in the area and rotary tills to a depth of 8" twice over the new garden spot. Guess what the areas we left sown as most yards in my area are not looking good. Spotty and thin in a lot of areas, but the section he tilled for a garden is the prettiest thickest grass I have ever seen. I just can believe how we'll it looks after rotary tilling the heck out of it. I wonder if this was a fluke or should I seed the 25 acres I plan to seed in orchard grass this fall this way put the fertilizer down, seed and rotary till it lol.
Surprised the heck out of me!!
