Hesston 6450 reel bearing

How do you get to the left side reel bearing on a Hesston swather? The nuts are inside the reel tube with no access to them. Do I have to take all the drive gear off the right side and remove the entire reel? Or can a guy cut some access holes in the tube and get enough room to replace the bearing? Thanks
