Irrigation well

Not a hay question like a lot of irrigators pumping out of wells or bores as we call them in oz i have a iron problem blocking the screens ,to get a well guy in i will be waiting up to 6 months,anyway looking on you tube i saw where they out dry ice down the well,has anyone tried this,it looks too easy to work ,i know the well bloke will spend up to 3 weeks on and off working it
