I am new to hay making (in fact I am a citidiot that has never made a bale đł) and realize what I am proposing is next to impossible. I only have 5 cows so my hay spoils before the girls can eat a large round or square bale. I have bought a Case 8420 and a shrink wrapper with the objective of baling green hay to make Baleage. My girls have been eating preserved hay all winter and love it until it goes bad in a few days. I have read online the Case 8420 / Hesston 530 do not like to bale anything but very dry hay. My baler has very heavily wore / smooth belts and I was wondering if I replaced them with new belts with the deeper ribbed / chevron design it would improve the odds of being able to make green bales without constant clogging or jamming. Flame away đ€ looking to all you experts for direction on what I might work and if the belt replacement is worth the money and effort.
