Hesston 1007 disc mower thoughts

I'm looking at moving from my old sickle mower and upgrading to a newer (used mower). I have found a hesston 1007 disc mower that shows to be in fair shape for $3500 from a local farmer. The local john deere dealer has a john deere 275 for $6000. I've never used a disc mower so not familiar with either one. Don't cut a lot of hay, probably 200 acres of prairie grass, 100 acres of Bermuda, and 100 acres of Johnson grass. Pulling w a 5083e john deere. Would love some input as to whether the john deere is a better mower (or at least a $2500 better mower) as well as what to look at to make sure they are in working order.
