Been doing some searching on this site as well as others about the pros and cons of burning off alfalfa fields between seasons. Seems a like most of what I've read so far is written as it pertains to growing alfalfa seed not for dry feed. They are also written in university study language rather than normal talk.
For the pro people when do you burn off? Every year? Every other? Spring or fall? Do you find any benefit in weed or bug control either way? Also thinking overall stand longevity. What other benefits or drawbacks do you find?
Burn permit is not an issue in my area since all we need to do is let the fire dept know we are burning to eliminate false alarms.
