NH 275 hay knives adjustment

Hey guys. Got the baler running after lots of reading and help here.
I noticed ragged bales while baling Tully grass (stalky) and removed the knives to sharpen them as they were very blunt.
After replacing, I found the gap between the knives to be about 1/4”!
Before I go adding shims, I was going to adjust the bearings in case of a clash.
The manual is contradictory though saying “Bearing 6, figure 32, can be moved sideways to center it on rail B, Figure 30, by loosening the wrist pin set screws and sliding the wrist pin to the left or to the right as required.
Bearings 1, 4, and 5, Figure 31 and bearing 6, Figure 32, are not adjustable”
Seems bearing 6 leads a double life.
Could someone please help with adjustment in beginner terms?
