Pasture/Feed Lot Reparation

I live in middle TN where we raise two cattle heards of about 40 head each. I carried a smaller group through the winter on a 5 acre field/feed lot that is pretty torn up and needs re-seeding. The ground is torn up enough not to need cutlivating so I plan to over seed and chain harrow. I will also have to leave some cattle in the field. What seed would you suggest broadcasting and when would you do it for my area? The ground tested good last year and I will fertilize in March or April weather permitting. 

I know this is a general question but hope it is enough information to work with.
