Vermeer Tedder Tine Setup Question

Those of you running a Vermeer tedder with hooked tines, how close to the ground are setting the tines. I’m thinking the manual (at least the Lely covered versions) calls for the tines to touch the ground across the front 10ish inches (25cm).

Do you run your tines on the ground per the manual, if not, how high off the ground?

The hooked tines - are these things better than straight tedder tines or just a marketing gimmick?
