We have always purchased used flail choppers. They all seemed to work ok blowing forage into self unloading chuck wagons, or short self feeder wagons. I recently purchased a self feeding wagon 22' in length and can only blow the forage half the length of the feeder wagon. It would seem to me that I would need the flail chopper to blow the forage at least 25-28' from the end of its chute to be able to fill the back of the wagon up. What can I expect from a new NH Model 38 or Deere model 972. How far will the forage material travel..assuming no wind. I suspect my "paddles" are a bit worn on my old Fox Chopper, but other than that its in serviceable condition. I just don't have the time right now to tear it down... and finding a used low hour flail chopper around here is a bit tough. Thanks for the help.
