I was thinking of sq baling some 4x4 round bales that were put up as sweet hay. the farmer doesn't know what % moisture his hay was put up at. Some where between 20 to 40 %. I live where it is hard to get your hay dry to 20% or below. So many people just rap it so they don't lose it altogether. What I was wondering, is at what moisture does it freeze to where it can't be unrolled so I can sq bale it. Anyone had experience doing this and have any tips for me ?. I have very dry and cold days that If I roll it out and let it dry afew days I can bail it up dry and it should keep as dry squares for me to use or even sell it. Up here I can get $10 to $13 a bale.
