I have off and on raised quail and chukar. Feeding commercial bagged feed is a deal killer to get birds to flight ready size. I am thinking now that I have a pivot of alfalfa hay I could develop a feeding program based on hay. I would get tractor supply 32% catfish feed @ $20 a bag as a growth/feed supplement cut with regular starter. The goal is good birds, less feed costs without losing vigor for flight.
Any experience feeding birds?
