Anyone planted/experimented with low lignin alfalfa?
If so any problems/concerns with your equine market folks?
I'm pondering planting some for the ability to have a longer harvest window, increasing tonnage per cutting, while reducing number of cuttings from 4 to 3 cuttings a year. I'm liking the reduced cutting (time and equipment wear), along with reduction in traffic (perhaps longer stand life?) with the same tonnage/quality features.
As far as the branch root alfalfa, I haven't seen both traits together YET, but for those who might have some experience with branch root, have you noticed the difference in stand life and/or yield?
