Disc timing NH 1409

One set is out of time so I have all the turtles off and gonna reposition everything or does this mean something is broke or worn? I bought this machine new in 08 and repositioned one disc after running into a mound othetwise have not really replaced any hubs or modules, what is normal backlash?
