First let me explain that we don't want to make silage but we want to bale the forage in order to transport it to our factory.
Ideally, we will remove as much moisture as we can in the field to reduce hauling costs and drying costs in the factory. But some days the weather will not allow that, so on such days, it would be handy if we could bale right behind the mower.
Does anybody know:
( a ) What is the maximum moisture content that can be baled?
( b ) What kind or specific brand/model of baler could do that?
I expect the fresh forage at time of cutting will be about 85% moisture (if anyone thinks/knows differently, let me know).
Thanks.
Maximum moisture content for baling fresh forage (no wilting)?
