Dormant or Dead Timothy?

Don't know how the weather is in your neck of the woods, but here in the western mountains of VA, it's dry as a crispy potato chip. We haven't had a steady rain for weeks, continuous hot weather too. Creek that runs along the edge of the property is low enough to walk across on the exposed rocks.

Looking out over one of my Climax Timothy fields, the Timothy grass is just about 90% brown. Looks like someone hit with roundup. The Clair Timothy field is in some better shape, but not much.

First time growing Timothy. Question is - am I looking at a typical dormant Timothy field or a dead Timothy field?

What can I expect in the coming weeks, assuming there is rain?
