Equipment Stands

One thing I do not like about 3 pth equipment is parking them. Having them stable to unhook from, to sit there till needed again and for re-hooking is something to give thought to.  I have a boom mower that has three legs on it but they do not give me stability I want. It has flail cutter head on it giving it a shallow foot print on falling forward or backwards. The hyd oil tank is frame the boom and legs mount to and is about 16" inches deep. Again not much for front to rear stability. I am looking for options, it is stored on the dirt, not concrete so rain can affect how solid the dirt is. I have thought on a pair of over grown saw horses made from treated lumber and maybe 2 by 6 or even 2 by 8 legs and 2 by 8 for the mower to sit on. I have thought about the solid concrete blocks made to set weight on stacked two two deep with a treated probably 2 by 8 laying on top for the mower to sit on to help spread the load. I doubt the mower weighs over a ton but probably 75% of its weight is on the right side when being used but on the ground it is not so weighed with cutter head on the ground. Cutter head will rest on the ground on treat board.

I know of no piece of equipment I dislike hooking or unhooking then any rear mounted side cutter mower. My brother has a rotary mower for ditch banks that scares me for same reasons as my boom mower with flail head, you are in such tight places with no room for a mistake with a heavy implement in relation to fingers, arms and lives.

Thought about metal saw horses and might be best option, just somehow the idea does not suit me. Maybe if my welding was good, but that would be a hired job for me. Still rather do than if what is needed.

I do need access to the front and rear of the mower when off the tractor and it to be stable to work on it. Do want it stable.  I could strap it to saw horse design stands to make it more stable and had not thought of that till right now.

Thanks for your suggestions, Kenneth
