My brother has an 1835B diesel skid steer. Its been bad about breaking chains from day one when we got it, with 2300 hrs, back in 2012. Since last fall its has popped the same chain twice. Chain is a USA Drives, no measurable stretch. Chains are breaking in classic overload fashion, broken pin and side plates. Skid steer does mostly dairy barn work, is one of three that we have around, and is the only one ever to have chain problems. Question I have is at what point does sprocket wear begin to cause chain breakage, if ever? The sprockets are kinda worn, not awful but noticeable. Any ideas?
