I have a soft spot for these balers, so when I heard about this video I had to watch it. I always wondered what on earth New Holland was thinking when they chose the 24x36 (60x90) bale size as far as convenient transport. Turns out I wasn’t thinking about it right. Most of the aspects of the D-1000 are very well thought out. In my opinion, the only thing that New Holland really messed up was the knotter clutch, it is too light. Also the main chain tensioner was poorly designed. The needles should have been stiffer also.
