Anyone raise malting barley?

Looking for some insight into raising malting barley. I get it that the brewers are very fickle and such, not looking to open that can of worms, just wanted real world experience. I’ve raised barley in my forage mix as a cover for alfalfa, but always chopped it before the beards got too hard.
