JD side restrictor plate instead of NH chamber wedge

Saw this idea elsewhere and trying to decide whether there’s really any merit to it. Someone swapped out a set of NH wedges in favor of the Deere “fish scale” restrictor. Their claim was that it was a poor man’s bale skiis but I think that’s fairly ridiculous. However, I do wonder if the Deere restrictor is any degree better in terms of anti springback tendency in the hay compared to the much simpler wedge design. Wouldn’t take much difference to justify the $80, especially if it’s tome for new wedges anyway. I wonder if mounting a set of them immediately behind the front wedges would be too much resistance.
