NH488 haybine main drive belt

So, not a new topic. In fact I have gotten very detailed instructions from this site on how to replace the main drive belt. But I am having a real wrestling match trying to get the gearbox far enough away from the haybine in order to get the belt removed from the top pulley, over the gearbox and away from the machine. Any suggestions on how to get enough clearance to get the belt out?
