RTV Air Filter

I recently read on this site that one of the members was told by the dealer that with a high mount air filter you could eliminate the small inner filter which would give the RTV a little more power. I replaced my stock outer filter with a K&N E-4552 High Performance filter on my 2010 RTV 900. That K&N filter is a lifetime washable filter, but I don't think you spray it with K&N oil like you do the ones I have put on my on road vehicles. The K&N does give better filtering and a higher air flow.

Does anyone have an opinion on removing the inner filter with the high mount ?
