Getting around to give an update on my slipping problem on an RTV 900. I replaced right rear axle. Axle went back through the outer bearing pretty hard. After getting it all the way in, it was tight to turn. Even with it in gear it seemed tight...pretty much the way it felt when this problem started. So, I started pounding the axle back out. When the axle was half way through the outer bearing it turned easily, so I beat it back in. All is good and it is working fine. I thought I might have had a brake hanging up as that is what it acted like. Thanks to all who volunteered their expertise and ideas. Now I'm working on taking the gear box out of a ZD28 mower deck RCK 72p. Operator never greased this machine. This is the 3rd time it's gone out. Stupid. Having a hard time getting the shaft up through the lower bearing.
