I am looking into buying a used Enorossi 4 basket tedder from a guy who is getting out of the hay business.
The bad: The guy said is started smoking from where the pto shaft goes into the center gearbox and he shut it down borrowed the neighbors, and hasn't messed with it since. He says he is "not a mechanic by no means" so he hasn't ever dug into it and is now selling all of his equipment to let his neighbor cut his fields for him.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on what it could be? My thoughts were a bearing or something running dry. He said all the baskets turn freely, and he bought a new PTO shaft for it a few years ago.
