Anyone Getting The Rear Wheel Into The Mower Conditioner Tongue?

Looked at a couple of used mower conditioners, one had turn limiters/bumpers, the other didn't.





They seem like a good idea. Do you have these bumpers on your mower conditioner? Aside from putting the back tire against the tongue, is one of the purposes of these things to limit the turn to prevent busting U-joints?

What is your trigger for adding these bumpers?
