rental ground question

I was at a wedding this weekend and ran into a guy that I went to school with his kids. We chatted for awhile and he asked if we were still farming. Then he asked if we were looking for more ground to farm. He is very unhappy with his current renter.I won't go into details other than to say that the current renter hasn't followed through on his promises. I know the farmer that currently farms it. I wouldn't call us friends, but will talk if at the same event. We have always tried not to steal other peoples ground. I don't want to drag my name through the mud. Does it matter if the landowner came to you?
