Thinking about building a silage facer, one of the rotary type, mounted to the top of a skid steer bucket, rake the face down then scoop up the silage and load. I am only feeding about 100 tons per year, pile is only 6' or so high so reach is not a concern. I have a hydraulic motor, they look pretty simple. What am I missing? Currently we are scraping down with the backhoe, slow but its working well enough. I would rather use skid steer to feed with, but I don't want to start 2 machines twice a day.
