Second and Third Cuttings and Tedding

Thin second/third cuttings of grass hay - do you ted it?

Our last second cutting, it was somewhat thin, but clumps here and there - so we gently tedded. I feel much of the shorter leafs made it down into the stubble and we lost some noticeable yield. I suppose I could run my rake and baler tines in the dirt and get everything, but don't really want to go there.

Anyone not Ted these later cuttings with the goal in mind of not loosing yield?
