What if Kubota kept the 25hp D1105 engine and mated it with a four speed manual transmission?
Of course, they would have to limit the speed somehow. But would anyone buy a four speed diesel Kubota?
I am not sure a manual transmission and clutch would have the same utility or descent control of the current configuration but it is, at the very least, an interesting prospect.
It would put the control for choosing the right gear in the hands of the operator and would significantly even out those hills and grades where the climbing speed drops significantly for some of us.
I would be among the first to take a test ride.
