Someone asked what the advantage of the Hand Throttle was. I am not an expert on Hydro Statics but here is what I understand and if I am wrong someone please correct me. Some bulldozers work from the same principle and I am very familiar with them.
A Hydrostatic Trans is like a big Hydraulic Pump (put simply) and the more power you give it the more power it puts out.
On the RTV900 the Accelerator Pedal controls both the Engine Throttle and the Forward Motion at the same time in a synchronized action. Meaning ie: a little Throttle and a little Motion and so forth.

With a Hand Throttle you are able to give the Engine an infinite amount of throttle up to wide open without asking the Hydro Trans for any movement.
Therefore when you do depress the Forward and Reverse Pedal you are giving the Hydro Trans the total amount of engine power that you have set the throttle for no matter what speed you select.
You could be crawling at the slowest speed possible but putting the full power of the engine to the Hydro Trans at the same time.
A very big advantage.
