Is it okay to use ring roller or (cultipacker) behind drill?

Hello all. I jus purchase a Massey Ferguson grain drill to plant my winter oats. I've never done it before but I would like to know if it's okay to use a ring roller or as some know it as a cultipacker right behind the drill to make sure soil compaction and seed cover can occur evenly.?
