Which sorghum sudan

lundi 22 juillet 2019

Due to the reality of making sorghum sudan hay I opt to take one cutting, usually after freezing. This year I planted a BMR photosensitive variety which looks great. My question is would I be better to plant a dry stalk variety, a dwarf variety or whatever.

I also winter graze sorghum sudan and of course the photo sensitive thing is great. Day length causes it to head out about the time of our first frost or at least cool weather. Any ideas on what might be a better fit? The cows do leave stalks in the field but by the time I plant first of June with my no till drill it's not a problem. FYI we live in Minnesota.

Thanks farmguy
