Johh Deere 4995 with 994 header - FLOAT PROBLEMS

Hi there, I recently upgraded to a self propelled discbine, and I have noticed that am having problems setting my float pressure. The problem I am having is as follows:
-when I adjust the height of the header down, the header falls to the ground with little resistance.
-I am unable to see any float pressure readings on my digital Guage cluster.

Does anyone have any insight on how I can fix this problem? Is there any adjustments to be made with the float control valve? I have tried opening and closing it to try and detect a change in float performance.
